ChatGPT is OpenAI's AI assistant. Once connected, it works in Zirko with your permissions — what it may do and what never is explained in What AI assistants may do in Zirko.
First, in Zirko: AI assistants are allowed in your business (Settings → Company → AI assistants, Office – Admin only). Under How to connect your assistant, Copy address copies the address for your assistant.
Does your plan allow it?
According to OpenAI, letting ChatGPT create things in Zirko, not just look them up, is currently a test version (beta) on the Business, Enterprise and Edu plans — only in the browser, not in the ChatGPT app on your phone. On Pro, ChatGPT can only read; Zirko then cannot create anything. For Plus, Go and the free plan, OpenAI does not say. (Information from OpenAI, checked on 11 October 2026.)
On one of those plans? Then Claude is the way to go: it works there on every plan, including the free one.
Developer mode
In ChatGPT, connections of your own such as Zirko run through Developer mode. Despite the name, it is just a setting in ChatGPT — you do not need to do any programming. Who may turn it on depends on the plan:
- Business: according to OpenAI, only the admins and owners of your workspace. They create Zirko as an app and make it available for everyone.
- Enterprise and Edu: an admin makes developer mode available. After that you turn it on yourself, in the settings under Apps (Settings → Apps → Advanced settings).
How to connect
- Turn on developer mode — you or the admin, depending on the plan, as described above.
- Create Zirko as an app. In developer mode you create an app of your own — in Business, the admin does this. Enter the copied address as the address and choose OAuth as the sign-in method. OAuth means: you sign in to Zirko yourself in a moment, and ChatGPT never gets to see your password.
- Agree. ChatGPT opens Zirko. Sign in, check the business and role, and choose Connect.
Even if the admin creates the app for everyone: each person connects themselves, with their own Zirko sign-in. That way ChatGPT works for everyone with their own permissions — for a field worker, with exactly that field worker's permissions.
ChatGPT's menus are named differently depending on language and version; OpenAI's help on developer mode is what counts.
Before it does anything final
Issuing, sending, reminders, cancellations and the other actions that cannot be taken back are only carried out by Zirko after your explicit yes. ChatGPT shows you the exact details first — read them before you agree.
If it does not work
- “AI assistants are switched off in …” — the admin has to allow them first. Then restart the connection.
- “This request is no longer valid” — the request is only valid for a few minutes. Restart the connection in ChatGPT.
- ChatGPT can read but not create anything — your plan only allows read-only access, or your business is currently in read-only mode.
Disconnect any time under My assistants → Disconnect, in the app under Profile → AI assistants. It takes effect immediately.
